On May 24, 2018 a unique live seminar discussion “Color Anodizing in Architecture. Actual decisions in world practice" was held together with the Belarusian Union of Architects.
During the seminar the excursion was made around two objects where anodized aluminum was used in the decoration of the facades:
1. “Multifunctional complex FALCON Investment”, which includes the Marriott hotel, as well as a sports center and a number of related facilities. This project was the winner of the XVII Republican architectural competition, won the Grand Prix.
2. "Center of Olympic training in rhythmic gymnastics"
The excursion was moderated by the chief architect of the Gymnastics Palace project, Irina SKOROBOGATAYA, and Taras GVOZDKOV, the general director of the KTM architectural anodizing plant.
The assembled architects were able to familiarize themselves with the facades of these objects, evaluate the visual presentation of anodized aluminum, learn the nuances that exist when designing facades with complex shapes, and get an idea of the design features of the installation of ventilated facades.
After the excursion a discussion seminar was held at the Union of Architects where Aki ROOSAAR, a representative of the German metallurgical enterprise NOVELIS, spoke about world trends in the use of aluminum in architecture. Also the report was made by Taras GVOZDKOV who provided the assembled audience with detailed information on the essence of the electrochemical anodizing process, the differences between this process and the most frequently encountered alternatives in modern facade materials.
